Author posts on separate page visible in menu

This seems so very simple, but I can't seem to get it through my thick head. How do I get a page of posts by author (author page) into a separate page in the menu. Rather than clicking the author name in .entry-meta, I want them to click the corresponding page in the menu.

Do I need to make a new template for the page that calls on author's posts...or ...can someone help?

Chris, as always you rock! I'm still learning to write the codes, hooks, filters, actions...rather than copy paste. In the process, I've forgotten to use whatever is best which might already be plugin...
