Something I've been unsure about: Does any child file an analogous place within the file structure as the same named file in the parent theme override that parent theme file?
I know the css works this way, but will this work for any file? If so, that'll make my life easier, but I'm not sure if that is the case.

It should work for all files in the base directory.

So I've been attempting this with a file and it doesn't seem to be overriding the parent file. I made a copy of "content-extensions.php" and placed it here: "mychildtheme/library/extensions/content-extensions.php" but the parent version is being used. Can you please explain if what I'm trying to do is possible and, if so, what might I be doing wrong?

I have the exact same question, but I cant find the answer anywhere..... somebody?
the same question as jbtank? why on earth would you want to override the content-extensions.php?!?! everything in there can be modified using hooks and filters and the new childtheme_override functions....

My reason for wanting to override content-extensions.php is that I simply want to change this text: "Apologies, but we were unable to find what you were looking for. Perhaps searching will help."
I took a another good look at content-extensions.php and I'm sure there's a very simple way of doing this with using childtheme_override_404_content, but no matter what I try, I keep getting a blank page. How should I do this correctly?
